In Setenil de las Bodegas, the houses are carved into the rock. The cliff serves as a roof for whole streets, and terraces set up underneath, in the shade of the stone. The village is ranked among Spain's most beautiful, and it comes early in this trip, between Ronda and embarkation in Seville.
The 7-night cruise on the Guadalquivir, aboard the MS Belle de Cadix, is the thread that holds it together. Cordoba and its Mezquita, Seville and its Alcazar, Cadiz and its medieval quarter, Jerez and its 9th-century Alcazar, a bodega and its tasting of three wines with tapas, an Andalusian hacienda at Isla Minima. All meals are served on board, with water, wine, beer, juice and coffee at meals, and flamenco comes aboard one evening.
After disembarkation the trip changes pace: eight nights in a studio at the Bajondillo residence, in Torremolinos, on the Costa del Sol. An orientation walk, an excursion to Mijas and its white streets on the mountainside, then free days for the beach, the seafront promenade and the shops. A French-speaking representative is on site for the whole stay.

Montreal: departure. Meet at Montreal-Trudeau international airport for the flight to Malaga. Meals on board.
Malaga – Ronda. Arrival in Malaga, welcomed by your guide and driver, then the drive to Ronda. Typical breakfast on arrival and a visit of the town: the bullring and its museum, Casa Don Bosco, the famous Puente Nuevo spanning the Tajo gorge and the historic centre. Free time for lunch, hotel check-in and welcome dinner. In the evening, your guide offers a walk to see the town lit up. (B, D)
Ronda – Seville. Off to Setenil de las Bodegas, ranked among Spain's most beautiful villages, where many houses are carved straight into the rock. Free time for lunch and your own discoveries, then the drive to the port of Seville and embarkation aboard the MS Belle de Cadix for a 7-night cruise. Introduction of the crew and welcome cocktail. Seville – Cordoba – Seville. Motorcoach departure for Cordoba, about two hours away. Guided visit of the city, once the capital of the emirs and caliphs, on the north bank of the Guadalquivir, where Muslim, Jewish and Catholic cultures left a rare architectural legacy. The Mezquita, the mosque-cathedral, remains its emblem. Lunch in a restaurant and free afternoon. Back on board in Seville and free evening. (B, L, D)
Seville – Cadiz. Guided walking visit of Seville, its Arab past and its UNESCO World Heritage monuments, then a visit of the Alcazar, a palace and an extraordinary garden in the heart of the city where generations of monarchs left their mark. In the early afternoon, sailing to Cadiz along Doñana park, a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Arrival in the evening and a Cadiz by night outing with the entertainment team. (B, L, D)
Cadiz – El Puerto de Santa Maria. Motorcoach departure for Jerez, famous for its sherry, its Andalusian horses and its flamenco. City tour, visit of the Alcazar, a fortified palace dating from the 9th century, and of the cathedral, which blends Gothic, baroque and neoclassical styles. Back on board. In the afternoon, a walk to the historic centre of Cadiz, between the lanes of the medieval quarter and the more orderly streets of the baroque district. Guided visit of the Franciscan monastery, built between the 14th and 15th centuries, where the explorer stayed while preparing his departure.
